‖ swayamvara India.|ˌswajamˈvaːra| Also swayambara, swayamvar. [Skr., lit. ‘self-choice’.] A Hindu ceremony in which a woman chooses her husband from amongst several contenders; a symbolic representation of this, preceding an arranged marriage.
