svanbergite Min.|ˈsvænbɜːgaɪt| [f. the name of Lars F. Svanberg (1805–78), Swedish chemist: see -ite1.] †a. = platiniridium Obs. b. [ad. Sw. svanbergit (L. J. Igelström 1854, in K. Vetenskaps-Akad. Förhandlingar XI. 156).] A basic phosphate and sulphate of aluminium and strontium, SrAl3PO4SO4(OH)6, found as translucent rhombohedral crystals.
