‖ driedoring, n. S. Afr.|ˈdridʊərɪŋ| Also driedoorn |-dʊən|. [Afrikaans, f. Du. drie three + doorn thorn (see quot. 1972).] Any of several thorny shrubs or small trees found in the dry plains of southern and tropical Africa, esp. Rhigozum trichotomum of the Bignoniaceae (Jacaranda family).
