[mod.L. f. actino- + Gr. ζῶα pl. of ζῶον animal.]
A class of Radiated animals, comprising part of the Cœlenterata of Huxley, and of the Zoophytes of other naturalists, containing the sea-anemones and coral polypes. The sing. Actinozoon is rare.
