1. a. Moved by traction; dragged, hauled, pulled; attracted; extracted; protracted; strained, stretched, made thin by tension. Also in comb., as long-drawn, well-drawn; with advbs., as drawn-up; drawn butter, melted butter; drawn-in, (of a rug or mat) made of small cuttings of material drawn through a canvas foundation; drawn-on (see quot. 1940).
