acroclinium, n.|ækrəʊˈklɪnɪəm| [a. mod.L. genus name Acroclinium (coined by A. Gray 1852, in Hooker's Jrnl. Bot. IV. 270), f. acro- + Gr. κλίνη couch, with reference to the acutely conical receptacle.] A herbaceous plant, Rhodanthe (formerly Acroclinium) roseum, of the family Compositae, native to Australia but cultivated elsewhere for its pink, everlasting flowers.
