‖ donatio mortis causa, n. phr. Law.|dəʊˈneɪʃɪəʊ ˈmɔːtɪs ˈkɔːzə| Pl. donationes |dəʊneɪʃɪˈəʊniːz|. [L., = gift by reason of death.] A (revocable) gift of personal property or land made in contemplation of death, and effective upon the death of the donor.
