Deceit, fraud; spec. wilful or intentional damage (contrasted with culpa). Freq. in phr. dolus bonus, deceit not intended to cause damage, or regarded by the law as justified (?obs.). Also dolus malus, deceit with malicious intention to harm. Cf. dole n.3 2 and doli capax adj. phr.
