3. a. Arch. A pointed ornament or moulding suggesting the idea of a projecting tooth, frequent in early mediæval architecture. Also attrib.

5. attrib. dog-tooth bit: used as a rendering of L. lupatum frenum, a curb studded with jagged points like a wolf's teeth.
