‖ sundri East Ind.|ˈsʌndrɪ| Also sundari, soondry, -ee, -ie. [Bengalī sundarī (f. sundar = Skr. sundara beautiful, handsome).] A tree abundant in the Ganges delta, Heritiera minor, yielding a tough and durable timber. Also applied to H. littoralis, the looking-glass tree. Also sundra-, sunder-tree (Cent. Dict.).
