dithizone Chem.|daɪˈθaɪzəʊn| [ad. G. dithizon (H. Fischer 1929, in Zeitschr. f. angew. Chem. XLII. 1025), f. diphenylthiocarbazone.] The crystalline compound diphenylthiocarbazone, C13H12N4S, which is used as a reagent for the estimation and separation of lead and other metals.
