[f. prec. + -ed2.] Combined chemically with sulphur; impregnated with sulphur. sulphuretted hydrogen: hydrogen sulphide, H2S, a colourless gas with a very offensive odour, prepared by the action of diluted hydrochloric or sulphuric acid upon iron (ferrous) sulphide.
