sulphopurpuric, a. Chem.|ˌsʌlfəʊpɜːˈpjʊərɪk| [ad. F. sulfo-purpurique (Dumas, 1836): see sulpho- and purpuric.] Applied to an acid obtained by the action of sulphuric acid on indigo. Hence sulphoˈpurpurate.
