† disˈheriss, v. Obs. (Chiefly Sc.) Forms: 4 dysherys, 6 disheris, -heireis, -hæriss, 7 disheriss, disherize. [14–16th c. Sc. disheriss, as if f. extended stem of an OF. *disherir to disheir, which may have been used in AF. The corresponding E. form would be disherish; the form in -ize is due to confusion of verbal suffix: cf. advertise, amortize.] = next.
