rap jumping, n. Chiefly N.Z. and Austral. Brit. |ˈrap ˌdʒʌmpɪŋ|, U.S. |ˈræp ˌdʒəmpɪŋ|, N.Z. |ˈræp ˌdʒʌmpɪŋ|, Austral. |ˈræp ˌdʒʌmpɪŋ| [‹ rap- (in rappel n.2) + jumping n.] A form of abseiling in which the participant is positioned facing the direction of the descent.
