ransomite Min.|ˈrænsəmaɪt| [f. the name of F. L. Ransome (1868–1935), U.S. mining geologist + -ite1.] A hydrated sulphate of copper, ferric iron, and aluminium, Cu(Fe,Al)2(SO4)4·7H2O, formed as blue monoclinic crystals in a mine fire.
