dietetic, a. and n.|daɪəˈtɛtɪk| Also 6 dia-, 7–8 diæ-. [ad. L. diætētic-us, a. Gr. διαιτητικός of or for diet, f. δίαιτα diet n.1; in F. diététique.] A. adj. Of or pertaining to diet, or to the regulation of the kind and quantity of food to be eaten, especially as a branch of medical science.
