dictamnus|dɪkˈtæmnəs| [L.: see dittany. Adopted as a genus name by Linnæus in his Hortus Cliffortianus (1737) 161.] A perennial herb of the genus so called, belonging to the family Rutaceæ, esp. the cultivated species D. albus (= fraxinella); or the sub-shrub Origanum dictamnus (= dittany 1).
