ˈdibble-ˈdabble colloq. or dial. [Reduplication of dabble, the form expressing repetition with alternation of intensity, as in bibble-babble, tittle-tattle, zig-zag, etc.] lit. An irregular course of dabbling or splashing; fig. rubbish; also, uproar with violence.
