Blume Bijdragen tot de Flora van Nederlandsch Indië (1826) 781), f. strobilus + Gr. ἄνθος flower, in reference to the shape of the young inflorescence.] A herb or subshrub of the genus Strobilanthes, belonging to the family Acanthaceæ, native to tropical Asia, and bearing clusters of blue or white tubular flowers.
