dianoetic, a. and n. Metaph.|daɪənəʊˈɛtɪk| [ad. Gr. διανοητικός of or pertaining to thinking, f. διανοητός, vbl. adj. from διανοέ-εσθαι to think, subst. the process of thought, f. δια- through, thoroughly + νοέ-ειν to think, suppose.] A. adj. Of or pertaining to thought; employing thought and reasoning; intellectual.
