1. A stand for a cask; a gantry. Also, a stand or frame on which pottery is placed in the drying kiln (Knight).
1803Ann. Reg., Chron. 396/2 Mr. Madden..had water and beer butts thrown flat from the stillions. 1839Ure Dict. Arts 383 The casks are raised upon gawntrees or stillions. 1875Knight Dict.
