stifado|stɪˈfɑːdəʊ| Also stifato, stiffado, stiphado, stuffado. [a. mod.Gr. στιϕάδο, presumably f. It. stufato stew; cf. stufata.] A Greek dish of meat stewed with onions and other vegetables, esp. tomatoes.
