delegant|ˈdɛlɪgənt| [ad. L. dēlēgānt-em, pr. pple. of dēlēgāre to delegate: so mod.F. délégant.] One who delegates; in Civil Law, one who, to discharge his debt to a creditor, assigns his own debtor to the latter, in his place.
