Stellite, n.|ˈstɛlaɪt| Also stellite. [? f. L. stell-a star + -ite1.] Any of various cobalt-based alloys that usu. contain chromium and small amounts of tungsten and molybdenum and are used for their great hardness and their resistance to heat. A proprietary name in the U.S.
